Trenchless Pipelining Services
Perhaps you know that many residents of Larchmont, New York now consider traditional method of excavating to replace damaged sewer pipes is are outdated. That’s because the costs of the new pipe and restoration of original landscape make it unduly expensive and quite stressful.
You would certainly not like to have your lawn and patio excavated. Waiting for the lawn to grow back to its original condition can be painfully slow. If you consult your friends or neighbors, you will find that 95% of homeowners opt for trenchless pipe repairs.
We, at Drain Doctor, offer two options for Trenchless Pipe Lining to make sewer repair less difficult:
Trenchless Pipe Lining Techniques
Cured-In-Place (CIPP) Lining
For your small diameter sewer pipes, we suggest the Cured-In-Place method. In this method, we insert a non-woven felt tube with outer and inner polyethylene sleeves into the sewer pipes.
The outer polyethylene sleeve of the felt tube assembly has slots in it at regular intervals.
Our specialist technicians will insert a liquefied thermosetting resin into the felt tube to completely impregnate the felt lining with the resin. The thermosetting resin, after solidifying, forms an inner pipe sleeve.
The resin lining solidifies to form a very strong sewer pipe lining. This is achieved through the use of a bladder. The bladder is basically a flexible pipe. We insert it into the felt and polyethylene sleeve assembly. It’s filled with pressurized fluid to inflate the felt tube. Depending on the type of thermosetting resin, the curing fluid may be air, hot water or steam.
Once the curing time is attained, the fluid pressure in the bladder is removed. Later, we remove the deflated bladder pipe from inside the pipe to give you a new, stronger, more lasting sewer pipe.
At the end, our expert technicians test the new pipelining for integrity.
Pull-In-Place (PIP) Lining
For large diameter pipes, we use the Pull-in-Place method.
As the name suggests, here we pull a bladder and the felt pipe inside the damaged pipe. This continues to the entire length of the damaged pipe. Our plumbers then excavate a manhole of suitable size at the other end of the pipe. They do this to pull out the rope attached to the flexible pipe. Once the plumbers pull the bladder and felt pipe into place, they pump the inflating fluid into their respective locations. The curing process and testing methods are the same as for CIPP method.
In both of the processes, you get to enjoy a considerable piece of mind. That’s because we ensure that this entire process doesn’t disturb your routine. You don't even have to move your family temporarily. Neither does it impact your home aesthetics. And you we complete the entire repair process in just 24 hours! And to add to the benefits, it’s less costly than traditional pipe repair methods.
